My Health Philosophy

In my consultations, I use gut health as the foundation of wellbeing.

You will:

  • Understand the complex relationship gut health has with immunity, brain health, emotional health, sleep,  body composition, exercise performance & longevity.

  • Learn to listen to your body and mind - what to eat, when to eat, how much and not feel guilty

  • Include local, seasonal, sustainable and culturally appropriate foods.

  • Appreciate taste science and creatively balance taste, flavours, use of herbs and spices.

  • Understand how transitioning from ancestral diets to modern food system affects your health, taste and quality of foods and the environment.

My research and communication interests are:

  • Integrative and functional nutrition

  • Heritage and indigenous Southern African foods
